It's not all bad.

While enjoying the morning calmness, I heard a cock crowed.

I tried to keep calm but it crowed again, even louder.

I gave him the "you're getting on my nerves" look, but it didn't work.

He crowed the third time!

Pissed, I decided to leave, then my eyes caught my watch.

The minute hand was right on 12.

I looked at the cock, smiled, and said:

"It's good to know some things still work as they should".

Evolution: The Lost World

Like a gentle faint voice calling out to me from a distance, I couldn't tell when or why I left the comfort of my home and wandered outside. There I was, in the cool of the night, relaxing on a soft chair with its back tilted, listening to the low running noise of the electric pump as it circulated water, and made ripples on the swimming pool beside me. The fog lamp on the fence lit a small piece of rectangular lawn in front of me, as I watched the sprinkler spray the grasses at intervals. I said within me: "This is tranquility".  Perhaps this was the strong call that led me outdoors; leaving behind the conditioned air, TV sound, chemicals called ingredients oozing from the kitchen, and the black shoes I had to wear all day in pretense of comfort! Out here, I felt more human, ...but it came as a shock to me to realize that there was something still missing, I thirst for much more than this! As if my mind was listening, I was lost in thought to a time of many generations...
